WORK READINESS CREDENTIAL |

What Is It? A certification affirming that
the bearer has demonstrated the knowledge and skills needed for
successful performance as entry-level workers.
To get the certification, individuals must complete an assessment,
complete classroom instruction which addresses any identified
deficiencies and complete and pass an on-line National Standardized
Test.

Winona Workforce Center
as the testing and job search center. |

What do the tests and assessments measure?
The assessment and tests measure the competency of an individual in math
and reading skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills, decision
making skills and lifelong learning skills. The test uses
workplace situations so that it is directly applicable to employment. |
|
Any individual who wants to: 1.
Demonstrate to employers that they have the skills to successfully
perform in entry-level jobs.
2. Take the first step on a career path.
3. Identify the skills they may need to strengthen in order to
carry out tasks successfully.
4. Advance in the workplace |

Workers will be better matched to the job tasks they are given.

What is going to being asked of the
business community?
In order for the Work Readiness Credential to be effective and
useful, the business community is asked to be recognized as a supporter
and advocate of the credential. How?
1. By using the National Work Readiness Credential (NWRC) in
your recruitment and selection process;
2. Promoting NWRC for applicable roles within the business
organization;
3. Track performance of NWRC employees to validate
effectiveness of the program.
