Creative Job Search

A comprehensive, but not "exhaustive" OVERVIEW of the job search process. This course will introduce you to the general content of the Creative Job Search Guide which a job seeker can use as a self study or as a resource when attending other workshop sessions. At the end of the session, attendees will be equipped with the skills necessary to manage their own successful job search campaign.

Resumes and Cover Letters:

Would you like to complete the draft of your "starter" résumé or update an old résumé that penetrates the "hidden" job market? This book features résumé strategies, formats, do's and don'ts and samples. You will also learn how to write simple and effective cover letters. A good cover letter introduces you and your résumé and is a very important piece of the job search process. Recommended prerequisites: an old résumé or complete work and education history, a copy of a job posting, copies of three job descriptions and transferable skills list on ACINET or attend a skills workshop.

Performance Portfolio Options

Kick your job seeking efforts up to the next level. Résumés may get the job seeker an interview, but the portfolio when properly presented will get you the position. Learn to use research, personal profile, past accomplishments, credentials, work examples, references, and a well planned closing to bring your application to the top.
