Youth employment programs

We administer summer and year-round employment programs geared to help your people (ages 14 through 21) enter "earn and learn" situations.  Summer jobs provide a paycheck for eight weeks, and entry-level training in a variety of occupations at nonprofit, educational and other community-oriented work sites. For more information call 320.231.5174.

Counselors intervene to help youth who have a strong likelihood of leaving school due to problems with teen parenting, homelessness, runaway situations, juvenile court participation, chemical dependency, disabilities, economic hardship, English language deficiency, or difficult family life situations to complete high school and move on to post-secondary training, or transition to work.  The counselors mentor young students, working one-on-one with them, identifying problems, encouraging youth to develop personal goals for continued education and job preparation.  Often, placement into appropriate part-time employment illustrates the relationship between school studies and work.
