Who can
participate in a the local Dislocated Worker program?
To be eligible,
you must:
-
have lost
your job because of a plant/business closing or mass layoff
-
be out of
work through no fault of your own, be eligible for or have run out
of reemployment insurance benefits and be unlikely to find work in
your old occupation
-
have been
self-employed (including farming or ranching) and are unemployed because
of the general economic conditions in your community.

participating in a Dislocated Worker Program help me?
Service can
be tailored to your unique needs. Among the services that you might receive
are:

assessments/career
options,
-
assistance
in locating job leads,
-
assistance
in preparing your resume and assistance with cover letters,
-
classroom
training which supports your job goal (short term/long term; computer,
technical and academic),
-
on the job
training (earning a wage while learning new skills) and other services,
-
information
to help with the financial and personal concerns of unemployment,
-
referral
for training to improve your reading and math skills,
-
information
and assistance in getting a high school diploma or its equivalent,
