Frequently Asked Questions-

I lost my job. What do I do now?

The WorkForce Center is located at 1542 Northway Drive. You can call the WorkForce Center at (320) 654-5320.

Dislocated Worker Program

The Dislocated Worker Program may be able to help you. To be eligible, you must:

  • have lost your job because of a plant/business closing or mass layoff, or
  • be out of work through no fault of your own, be eligible for or have run out of Reemployment Insurance benefits and be unlikely to find work in your old occupation, or
  • have been self-employed (including farming or ranching) and are unemployed because of the general economic conditions in your community.

Dislocated Worker program staff will work with you to design a plan that will put you on the road to getting another good job.

There are no fees to you. Dislocated Worker services are funded by a state employer tax and federal funds through the Job Training Partnership Act.

For more information, call the WorkForce Center at (320) 654-5320 and ask for the Dislocated Worker Representative.

    Unemployment Compensation

You may be eligible for up to 26 weeks of benefits. Anyone who has been separated from a job can file for Unemployment Compensation. Eligibility depends on many factors that are explained when you file.
