Recruiting Employees

    Job Listings

    List your company’s job openings in our database to recruit the broadest group of qualified applicants.

    MinnesotaWorks

    You can directly search the Internet bank of applicant resumes. Searches can be done using key words or job titles.

    Account Representative Service

    Your company can be paired up with an account representative to establish an ongoing relationship. This customized service is designed to enhance the full comprehension of your unique preferences and needs. Your account representative will assist you in utilizing all of our service.

    Assessment of Employee Skills

    Access specialized testing to help identify preferred candidates. These tests may include achievement, proficiency, or any other validated measurements. A study of current employees based on a skill-based assessment tool to identify shortages in planning for training or future labor force needs.

    Employer Profiles

    Increase exposure of your business to job seekers through annual reports, reference books, website information or other documents and videos.

    Customized Training

    Solve skill shortages by connecting with appropriate training resources.

    Job Fairs

    Recruit future employees by participating in job fairs.

Laying-Off Workers

    Lay-off Assistance

    Along with other agencies and organizations, we assist in the planning for the orderly transition of employees who are in jeopardy of imminent layoff or have already received notice of lay off. We also help you explore alternatives to laying off workers and offer a comprehensive presentation about all of the service providers working with worker reductions.

    Unemployment Insurance

    To find out about the potential effect laying off workers may have on your Unemployment Insurance policy, please call Metro 651/284-3033 or Greater Minnesota 877/504-5050.

    Notice Requirements

    Learn about the legal requirements of giving notices of layoff or plant closings under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Act (WARN).

    Basic data on the types of employment enumerated by region and trend details organized and analyzed by labor market experts. Aggregate and component analysis available, and customized analysis performed on cost reimbursement basis.

    Labor Information

    Information on Child Labor laws, and Workers Compensation.

    Seminars

    Seminars are offered to employers that  feature experts on areas such as Americans with Disabilities Act, Workers’ Compensation, Family Medical Leave Act, Unemployment Insurance Tax, and other related business topics.

    Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance Information

    Information about the requirements of the ADA Act to help you understand and make provisions for compliance with this legislation. Training for individuals or groups is also available.

    Business Planning Data

    Learn facts generated on a local, state, and national level about creating a business and/or a marketing plan. Also included is information about basic laws and regulations to assist you in starting or expanding a business, or making other significant business decisions.
