| Finding a Job
Located in the WorkForce Center, the Resource Center provides computers for use free of charge. Access the Internet and job listings, or work on resumes and cover letters using a variety of software programs. Also included in the Resource Center is a collection of information about career areas, future outlooks for employment opportunities in each career and job category, videos on typical job duties, periodicals on recent developments in business, information on local, state and national business cultures, and other materials as available. Information on current job vacancies, including required skills, knowledge and abilities, wage and hours, benefits, location of work. Openings available on a local, state, and national level. Screening and Referral to Jobs Specific employer information on job openings from which you may be matched and referred for an interview. Special Job Development Specific job development for eligible individuals, such as on-the-job training or the design of adapted job duties to allow the employment of individuals with special needs. Employer Profiles Use annual reports, reference books, employer websites, and employer-generated documents and videos in our Resource Center to help you decide whether you should pursue employment opportunities. Prepare for successful interviewing and employment by better understanding the work environment. Resume/Job Search Skills Prepare to plan and carry-out an efficient investigation of employment opportunities and effectively market your skills and abilities. A variety of components and methods of instruction can be used. Areas covered include putting together a resume, filling out applications, interviewing, organizing your job search, understanding where potential jobs can be found, and identifying your skills. Access to Other Job Openings Obtain general information on how to gain access to other job openings, such as hiring done through union halls, or internal system listings, such as civil service exams.
