    Located in the WorkForce Center, the Resource Center provides computers for use free of charge. Access the Internet and job listings, or work on resumes and cover letters using a variety of software programs. Also included in the Resource Centers is a collection of information about career areas, future outlooks for employment opportunities in each career and job category, videos on typical job duties, periodicals on recent developments in business, information on local, state and national business cultures, and other materials as available.

Minnesota Career Information System

    You can explore education and training programs available nationwide through this computer-based, annually updated encyclopedia located in the Resource Center. Information includes size of campus, admission requirements, financial aid, student body demographics, and areas of specialization. Determine what occupational field you are best suited for using "Occupation Search" preference testing.

Career Decision-Making Skills

    Instructional materials and workshops to help you with the logical process of making informed choices about occupational training, looking for a job, and accepting employment.

Career Counseling

    Guidance in interpreting and using available resources to make informed career choices. May include individual or group activities, such as separation grief groups for dislocated workers, and any other activity that would improve employability, other than occupational training.

Skills Needed for Particular Jobs

    Information about the knowledge, skills and abilities needed for particular jobs. Information is also available about local, state, regional, national and, international skill standards.

In-Depth Testing and Assessment

    Testing to establish your skill level, your aptitude, your preferences, hands-on vocational exploration, temperament, personality, and other testing available as needed.

Non-Traditional Occupations for Women

    Non-traditional occupations for women are those skilled and technical jobs which employ fewer than 25 percent women. We will help you consider these expanded career options, many of which have the potential for higher wages.
