Veterans applying for services through the Minnesota WorkForce Center are given special priority of service for all programs.

Minnesota WorkForce Centers have a local Veterans Employment Representative (VER) to assist veterans with their employment related needs. The VER will keep you informed regarding new or revised employment programs.

Minnesota Veterans Career Fair!!

On Thursday, October 9, 2008, the statewide Minnesota Veterans Career Fair will be held at the Earle Brown Center in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The fair is open to all veterans and their spouses.  There will be two separate areas, one for Employers and one for Veterans Resources. We will also have an Employer Panel and a Workshop presentation by Amy Lindgren.  More information can be found at www.mncertifiedvets.us/news.htm#fair

Workforce Center Resources

Veterans can utilize employment resources at the MN WorkForce Centers. The resource area can be a valuable tool for self help needs including various guides and job search information such as manufacturer’s directories, career information and resume/cover letter/interview guides. Personal computers are available for you to write and print resumes and cover letters and to access the Internet for job search-related activities. Regular scheduled workshops are offered such as Creative Job Search and Resume Writing.

Veterans Reemployment Rights

Veterans and reservists returning from initial active duty generally have a right to return to the job they left to enter the Armed Forces and are entitled to benefits and status they would have had if they had not been away. The VER can assist you with reemployment rights questions.

As a veteran, you may have questions concerning benefits and rights. Information regarding services and benefits are available at:
