Good luck with your job search and thank you.

Appropriate uses include:

  • Job search, including emailing companies and job search contacts
  • Researching career and training options
  • Resume and cover letter writing
  • Researching companies
  • Program registration

Inappropriate uses include:

  • Personal email or personal research
  • Receipt, storage, transmission or viewing of offensive, racist, sexist, obscene, or pornographic information or materials
  • Changing or adding settings, formats, bookmarks or favorites
  • Downloading software without explicit authorization of WorkForce Center staff for business-related purposes; violation of copyright or of software licensing agreements
  • Illegal activities, including harassment or illegal discrimination; wagering, betting, selling or other commercial activities
  • Invading the privacy of others

E-Mail Use in the Resource Area

E-mail may be used for job search-related activities, such as transferring resumes, receiving applications, Q & A with employers, notification of job openings. We recommend free e-mail sites such as www.yahoo.com, www.hotmail.com, and www.mail.com.

Use of Flash Drives in the Resource Areas

Technology is changing and flash drives are rapidly replacing floppies. Therefore, we are allowing the use of flash drives in the Resource Area. Flash drives can be scanned for viruses just like floppies, so offices that actively scan drives/floppies/disks prior to use in machines will also scan flash drives.

General Policy

Protecting these resources for job seeker use is serious business. Staff monitors appropriate use of the computers, and will require users to respect computer maintenance practices that preserve equipment, such as scanning. Intentional misuse of the internet, the computer, printer, or any equipment will result in the loss of privileges and/or criminal charges. As with other public access sources for the internet, the WorkForce Center assumes no responsibility for the quality or accuracy of any Internet resource, or for any damage, direct or indirect, that users or anyone else may experience through WorkForce Center access to the Internet.
