Job Service - Job Service mission statement is to provide services to help businesses meet their labor force needs, and to help individuals gain or maintain economic self sufficiency to improve the quality of life in Minnesota. Our customers are: Employers - We provide an effective method to recruit employees and assist employers with their employment related business needs. Job Seekers - We provide the services to help a job seeker prepare themselves to look for a job and job openings information for both staff assisted and self referral. Employers and job seekers are able to access information on job openings, job search data, and the labor market via their own computer through our website and MinnesotaWorks. Individualized services are provided to veterans, dislocated workers, Trade Assistance Act participants, and area residents who need specialized assistance to help them obtain and retain employment. Employment consultant staff assist area employers by educating them on how to list their job openings on line, how to search MinnesotaWorks for resumes. Employers also have access to business resources including: Salary information, Labor Law Compliance, and Publications, and arranging business-related seminars. A local Job Service Employers' Committee provides input to continually improve employer services, data on employer expectations for job seekers, and future workforce needs. Job seekers choose to access career and job opening information on
a self-service basis. Employment-related workshops, job clubs, and career
exploration seminars are available to any job seeker at no cost. Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Services (CMJTS) Is a nonprofit employment and training agency and a partner in the Minnesota Workforce Center System. Our mission is to match job seekers, youth, businesses, and those seeking training with the resources available to them. MFIP - A program designed to help those on public assistance find jobs that will make them self-sufficient. Participants receive assistance finding work through job search, workshops and job clubs. Support services are available for job search related expenses. MFIP expects, supports and rewards work. Youth Programs - The knowledgeable staff at Central Minnesota Jobs & Training Services (CMJTS) is dedicated to helping disadvantaged youth ages 14-21 prepare for the workforce. Youth Employment Specialists work in collaboration with schools, nonprofits and other agencies to fulfill the mission of assisting adolescents and young adults connect work with learning in order to achieve academic and employment success. This is achieved through CMJTS’s sponsorship of the following
youth Services: Rehabilitation Services – Vocational Rehabilitation Program (VR) - The VR Program is for Minnesota workers with disabilities and for Minnesota employers seeking qualified workers. Workers with disabilities - You may qualify for VR services if you have a physical or mental condition that makes it difficult to prepare for, get or keep work. VR counseling, training, job placement, assistive technology, and many other services can help you get the job or career you want. Whether you’re a high school student, a young adult just out of school, or an adult with a work history, these individualized services can help you find your place in the workforce.
The VR Program is a good deal for Minnesota taxpayers. Each state dollar expended on the VR Program captures nearly four dollars of federal VR funds to serve Minnesotans. And, when a person goes to work after completing their VR employment plan, studies show they return more than eleven dollars in taxes for each dollar spent on their VR service. State Services for the Blind - SSB is a partner in the MNWFC system. SSB's mission is to help blind and visually impaired Minnesotans maximize their vocational and personal independence. They can also help you retain current employees, analyze your job tasks and assist with job adaptations for blind or visually impaired employees. We can also help gain access to the printed word,through braille, audio transcription. radio talking book and telephone access to various news media. We can also provide you with consultation on the appropriate adaptive and assistive technology and devices that can assist you We have a communication center which can serve as your public library. Experience Works, Inc - Is Minnesota's leader in the training and matching dependable, experienced mature (senior) workers with employer needs. Services to seniors include a variety of programs designed to help mature individuals enter the workforce, obtain needed training, secure more challenging positions, move into new career areas, or supplement their incomes.
