Do you need help finding job openings, in your job search strategies, or in your career planning? The Mankato Job Service has the services you need to assist you in achieving your goals.

Creative Job Search Workshop: You will learn tips on dealing with change, managing your feelings, making ends meet; organizing your job search, where the job are; skills identification, goal setting; resumes and cover letters, formats and variations; job search tools; the job search process, how do employers hire, networking; the job interview, interview preparation and tips; thank you letters and notes; and more. This is a four hour workshop. There is no cost for this workshop.

Resume Assistance: One on one assistance is available to help you prepare a resume. Computers and printer are also available to prepare and print your resume. We also offer resume assistance in a group format. Click here for more information and times.

Resource Area: You can create your resume and cover letters on a personal computer, research career information, utilize Internet, or browse job search/career exploration publications and reference materials. Use the job search computers to access thousands of job openings in Minnesota and nationwide. Take advantage of the phone, copier, and fax.

Job Listings: Access job listings on the self service job search computers. You can also access these listings anywhere internet is available on MinneaotaWorks.net.

Resume Builders - You can create your resume on MinneaotaWorks.net. Qualified employers and private employment agencies can access job seekers resumes through the internet. They can review your qualifications in relationship to their job openings, and if interested, employers may contact you directly! WinWay Resume software program is also available to help you build your resume.

Keyboarding - Learn the keyboard or increase your typing speed with Mavis Beacon Typing Tutorial computer program. 

Dislocated Worker Program

MCIS - Minnesota Career Information System - Contains the most comprehensive, current, and relevant career information available for Minnesota youth and adults. Available on the WorkForce Center resource computers.

U.S. Department of Labor - Career Voyages - Start exploring career options - whether you are in high school, have graduated, have a vocational certificate, have a 2-year or 4-year college degree, or have knowledge and skills acquired through training centers, on-the-job training, or work experience. Be in demand by knowing about high growth jobs with better wages and a brighter future.

Self- Employment/Starting a Business Resources - Resources to help your start your own business.

The Unemployment Insurance (UI) Program provides a short-term, partial wage replacement to workers who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own.  These benefits are paid from a dedicated Trust Fund Account which is maintained through assessments against Minnesota employers covered by the UI Program.

 Individuals can apply for UI benefits on line or by phone.
