Currently, the WFC is comprised of 25 members serving three year terms. Of the 25 members, 12 represent area business firms and 11 represent area non-business organizations. The following business clusters are represented by the Board:
- commercial real estate
- health
- banking
- manufacturing
- retail
- consulting
- energy
- financial
- private education
- restaurant
- forest products
- media
In addition, there are representatives of the Partners, community-based organizations, and labor, the economic development organization, secondary and post-secondary educational institutions, and the public assistance organization.
Business will always have a majority representation and those members are nominated by the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce to represent industrial and demographic composition of the local business community. Non-business representation includes education, organized labor, job service, rehabilitation, economic development, women, and minorities within the Service Delivery area. These citizen volunteers give a distinctive "private sector" flavor to our services and goals.
Meet the Workforce Council members.
