Dislocated Worker
Program
The Dislocated Worker program is an employment and training
program with the purpose of assisting laid-off workers in obtaining employment.
The program offers full- and part-time training to eligible participants to
upgrade or redirect their vocational skills in order to be competitive in the
labor market. Other services available are vocational counseling, transition,
career and job seeking workshops, mileage reimbursement, funds for clothing and
tools and childcare assistance in some cases.

Minnesota Family Investment
Program (MFIP)
MFIP is Minnesota's new welfare reform program for families with children.
The MFIP cash grant includes both cash and food portions. This new program
expects parents to work and provides parents supports while job-seeking
or when they become employed. A wide array of employment services is available
to families required to look for work. MFIP participants work with a job
counselor to develop a job search support plan. Services include vocational
counseling, skill upgrading as needed, child care assistance, job search
workshops, transportation assistance and access to all the resources within
the Resource Center found within the local Minnesota WorkForce Center. For more

Veteran's
Assistance
Qualified individuals can qualify for more specialized attention (Veteran's
Services), by counselor's who are also Veterans. They can help you
with problems and issues in finding employment that are related to your
background as a Veteran. For information in West Saint Paul call JoAnn at

Food Stamp Employment and
Training
A mandatory employment and training program for all eligible food stamp
recipients. Participants receive help in finding or upgrading their employment.
