We are a place where
partners have joined together to provide accessible services
to meet the employment and training needs of every member of the community.
We currently have offices in West St. Paul on Mendota Road West,
in Burnsville on County Road 42 and in Shakopee on
Canterbury Road
South.

Do I need to qualify for
Minnesota WorkForce Center
services?

Everyone is able to use the resources of the Minnesota WorkForce Center, many
of which are available on a walk-in basis during business hours. Some
services, such as Unemployment Insurance, may require a decision
regarding eligibility.
How do I apply for
Unemployment Insurance?

You can apply for Unemployment Insurance by
phone or on the internet.

Do only Dakota/Scott County residents get to use
your offices?

No, residency is not a requirement. During the hours that we are open,
you can come in to get assistance with your job search or career planning
activities.
What hours are you open?
.
We are currently open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through
Friday.
Can you pay for my career training?
Career training funds are available for certain programs within the
Minnesota WorkForce Center. A decision regarding your eligibility can be conducted
to see if you qualify for those services. Information regarding financial
aid is also available at the Minnesota WorkForce Center for you to review to see
if alternative funding sources can assist you in your career training.
Can you tell me what schools offer the training
I want?
Yes,
we have brochures, catalogs, and computerized information on most local
post-secondary schools and many other schools in Minnesota and the United
States, available in our Resource Rooms.
Can I get help in looking for a job?
Yes, we have a state-of-the-art Resource
Area, as well as qualified staff to assist you in your job search. Access to
MinnesotaWorks.Net and other postings are available for you to review. Internet
access is also available for individuals who are seeking work or are in
the process of career planning.
Do you pay for child care?
In some cases yes, child care is available for certain sponsored programs
if you meet the eligibility requirements.
