Small Business Administration
The U.S. Small Business Administration is an independent agency of
the federal government with the sole mission of assisting small businesses to
start, grow and prosper. The MN District office offers free counseling and
technical assistance, pre-business planning workshops
and information on starting and managing a small business through the Small
Business Development Centers, Women's Business Centers, the Business Information
Center, Tribal Business Information Center and SCORE.
A full range of financial assistance programs is also available.
You may also contact you local bank for SBA
assistance. Certain banks are designated as "Preferred
Lenders." These banks are defined as the most active and expert
lenders who qualify for the SBA's streamlined lending programs. Under
these programs, lending are delegated partial or full authority to approve
loans, which results in faster service form SBA
