The WorkForce Center-Anoka County offers specialized services that provide individualized employment, training and support services to assist residents who meet specific eligibility requirements. Please take a moment to review the following list of statements. If you feel you may be eligible, call the telephone numbers listed below. 


Twenty-one years old or younger?    Call Youth Services at 763-783-4809
The year-round programs concentrate on out of school youth, serving 16-21 year olds that have not completed high school. School completion, education and career planning, job search assistance, work-based experience, and support services are available.  The Summer Youth Program serves low income and targeted youth that are 14-21 years old with public service work experiences and on the job learning.

Fifty-five years old or older?    Call Older Worker Program at 763-783-4829
An employment and training program for job seekers who are 55 years of age or older--Anoka County residents and low income. The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides part-time employment opportunities at community service worksites for a 12-month period for 20 hours per week or less. Job assignments are made on an individual basis to match talents, interests and ambitions of the applicant to the worksite.  Click here for some community resources for seniors.

Rehabilitation Services works with people who have physical, learning, cognitive, or emotional disabilities that could result in barriers to finding employment.  The goal is to help people with disabilities overcome barriers in order to appropriately enter the world of work.

State Services for the Blind (SSB) provides direct services to eligible persons of all ages who are blind or visually impaired.  SSB believes that blindness should never stop people from obtaining jobs, in training, or in any activities which reflect their potential and interests.

Enables veterans in Minnesota to achieve economic security by facilitating quality career related services including personalized resume review, assistance converting military jargon and skills to civilian language, suggestions on how to utilize the Internet for job search activities, bonding assistance where required for employment, guidance in understanding job search for state, federal and county opportunities, referrals to various veteran specific services, and help identifying and overcoming barriers to employment. 

A dislocated worker (laid off) or Recently left active duty from the Armed Forces, National Guard, or Armed Forces Reserve?    Call Dislocated Worker Programs at 763-783-4858
Anoka County Dislocated Worker Program is an employment and training program to assist laid-off workers in obtaining employment as quickly as possible. The program offers financial support for full and part-time training to eligible participants. Other services include vocational counseling, career and job seeking workshops, mileage reimbursement, and other support services in emergency situations.
