Options for posting your job openings in MinnesotaWorks.net:

  • Go to www.MinnesotaWorks.net, click on Employers, and create an account to advertise your job openings and find employees.
  • Download the Employer Registration Form (Adobe file), print a copy, fill it out, and mail it to the address on the form or fax it to 763-785-6499.

Recruiting: In addition to the job listing and applicant search services, the Minnesota WorkForce Center-Anoka County offers several other no fee services to help you find workers:
  • Business of the Day
  • Use the WorkForce Center as a recruitment site. Promote open jobs and interview applicants on site. Call 763-785-6481 to register.  
  • Keyboard Skill Testing and Aptitude Testing
    For specific occupations, this testing is available to assess your job applicants.
Internet Recruitment Guide: A tutorial on how to use the Internet to search for job applicants and how to write an effective online job ad is available at no fee.  For complete instructions and a tutorial, go to http://www.deed.state.mn.us/mnw/tutorial.htm.

Annual Spring Job Fair: Every spring the Minnesota WorkForce Center-Anoka County produces the biggest job fair in the northern suburbs! For a nominal fee you can be a part of this huge annual event where you will have the opportunity to meet many people seeking work and to promote your business. Generic Employment Application: Devised by employers and staff of the WorkForce Center, this application complies with Human Rights and EEO statutes and is available for use by any employer. Call 763-785-6470 for more information.
 


REDUCE BUSINESS COSTS

Get a Tax Credit: You could qualify for Work Opportunity Tax Credit and Welfare to Work Tax Credit for hiring people from targeted groups including welfare recipients, disadvantaged youth, and people with disabilities.

 

Obtain No-Fee Bonding Insurance: Fidelity Bonding is no-cost employee dishonesty insurance that protects employers against employee theft of any money or property. The Minnesota Federal Bonding Program provides individual Fidelity Bonds to employers for new or current employees who may be denied coverage by commercial carriers.

Meet with our Business Services Specialist: Our Business Services Specialist offers assistance in finding customized solutions to meet your needs. Business Help Desk: Information and referral available to all businesses. Do you have a question on salary, child labor, overtime, Foreign Labor Certification, etc? Call the Business Help Desk and a staff person will assist you. Call 763-785-6481, TTY 763-785-5987.

 

Consultation on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): Obtain information about job accommodation strategies and the employability of people with disabilities. Call 763-785-3360.

 

Business Resource Area: Located within the WorkForce Center, this area provides you with Internet access, a phone, plus a library of resource materials to help you make your business succeed!

 

Classes for your potential and current employees:

  • Basic Computer Classes
    Free basic computer and basic Internet classes are held at the
    WorkForce Center for job seekers and your employees.
  • Job Seeking and Job Keeping Skills Classes
    Participants in these free classes learn how to recognize and communicate the skills they possess, and how to develop habits necessary to staying employed.
  • Adult Basic Education
    Free classes in English as a Second Language, GED, and Basic Reading and Writing. For more information about these classes, call 763-783-4870.
Business Seminars: Throughout the year, the Minnesota WorkForce Center-Anoka County conducts or assists with seminars that enhance your business. Examples of previous topics include Diversity, Information Security, Ethical Hiring Practices, Job Retention, and Unemployment. Job Service Employer Committee (JSEC): Membership in our Employer Committee provides you with direct input into our operations and services, and networking with other area employers. For more information about this committee contact the Business Services Rep. at 763-785-6470. 

Get the Facts You Need: See how your wages compare to averages in your geographic area. Get the information you need to expand or move. Keep your salaries competitive. A variety of free and low-cost publications that forecast job market and economic trends, provide employment and unemployment statistics, and more is available and updated regularly. A library of labor market information and advice on employment issues is readily available through analysts at the WorkForce Center.

Business Tax Workshops: Once a quarter, the Minnesota WorkForce Center-Anoka County hosts Business Tax Workshops. This is a cooperative partnership with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, the Minnesota Department of Revenue and the Internal Revenue Service. Minnesota's SBIR/STTR Assistance Program:  Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs provides funding in grants and contracts to small and start-up companies to develop new products and services based on advanced technologies.
