Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker Program

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development offers a Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker (MSFW) Program in designated WorkForce Centers. This program specializes in providing assistance to job seekers seeking to obtain work in agricultural and non-agricultural employment and to employers looking for these job seekers.
Located in designated WorkForce Centers is a Migrant Labor Representative available to provide information on:
Job order listings with the WorkForce Centers (for job seekers) or creating a skills-based job order and listing it with the WorkForce Centers (for employers).
Interstate and intrastate clearance orders.
Federal/state farm labor compliance regulations.
Mediation/interpreter services.
Liaison between MSFWs and MSFW service providers.
Job training opportunities.
The Migrant Labor Representative initiates outreach/contact with migrant seasonal farmworkers and with employers to explain the services/resources available. The Migrant Labor Representative is knowledgeable of the available nonagricultural and agricultural employment in the area.
